A planned community

Columbia, Maryland is a planned community located in Howard County. The community consists of ten independent peoples. Colombia is a suburb of Baltimore and Washington, DC. The city was created to improve the quality of life for its residents. The concept was to create a small town feel free entry, racial and religious segregation. The city has a population of about 97 200 people. It has a total area of 71.6 square miles (27.7 sq miles) with 71.4 square miles (27.6 square miles) of land and 0.3 km square (0.1 square miles) of water. Colombia is located in the Piedmont region Maryland. The climate is characterized by wet winters and hot summer wet and cold. There are river valleys and hills of the city. The Little Patuxent River and the river Middle Patuxent and three artificial lakes (Lake Elkholm, Wilde Lake and Lake Kittamaqundi) are in the city. Each town has many neighborhoods, community centers, recreational facilities, shopping centers, schools, walking and cycling paths /. Some villages have interfaith center. The villages are Dorsey Search, Harper's Choice Hickory Ridge Reyes fireworks, Long Reach, Oakland Mills, Owen Brown, River Hill, the center, and Wilde Lake. The names of the streets are named after the famous literature works of art. Money Magazine has ranked the British in the hundreds of "best places to live" in the United States in 2006. Colombia ranked number eight in 2008. Schools Howard County Public System operates public schools. The Columbia Mall is the largest mall in the region. It has five stores pillars, over 200 hundred shops and restaurants and a large cinema with 14 screens. The center is located in the center of town. The shopping centers are located in each village so that the stores are not easily visible from the road. Recreation is an important aspect of Colombia. Recreational facilities are operated and maintained by the Association homeowners, the British Association, or CA. There are six indoor pools, twenty-three outdoor pools, two waterslides, horseback riding, skating rinks Ice and wheels, a skate park, pavilions, picnic, a sports park with miniature golf, inside and outside of tennis a lot, batting cages, racing, club and park children, basketball, volleyball, squash and racquetball, and three sports clubs such as Club 24 / 7 Supreme Sports. Lifetime Fitness has been recently opened. There are many activities around lakes, such as cycling, canoeing, fishing, jogging, sailing and walking. There are also play areas for children. Many celebrations and fairs take place during throughout the year as the British Arts Festival, and summer on the shores of Lake Lake Kittamaqundi entertainment. There are many famous people from Columbia. Edward Norton, an actor who has been nominated for several Oscars made his professional debut when he was 8 years old at Toby's Dinner Theater in the center of town. Edward Norton is also the small son of the founder-Columbia, James W. Rouse. Michael Chabon, Monroe D ', Stephen Hunter, JJ Kincaid, Elise Ray, and Sir Frank Whittle are also famous British.
